O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

Ah, tonight I'm feeling like an hopeless romantic... well I'm a girl afterall you know, it's kind of something we're born with (or at least the majority of females are, there are of course exceptions..) I do believe though, that even if some poeple hide it more than others, we all look for some sort of romance in our life... c'mon, don't lie!!

Whether you're a man, or a woman you either want to find your princess and be her heroe, or you want to be the princess and be swept off your feet. Of course I'm not talking Disney style where you have to be kidnapped by a dragon or poisoned with an apple until dear prince charming comes and save you on his white horse, I mean he's more likely to be driving a fiat or flying low cost on easyjet now-a-days. But we all know that's a fantasy world created by Disney to raise the hope of the little girl inside of us who at 5 years old locked herself in the wardrobe and didn't want to get out until prince charming came to save her from... ehm, the imaginary dragon sitting across the room... ( no, shut up, this wasn't me *grin* )

Anyway, my point is, for as surreal as Disney princess' story were the base line IS there. We all want romance and I'm sure most of us will happily deal without a dragon, a poisoned apple, an evil genie who turns into a gigsntic snake or an evil stepmother... To be honest, I totally agree with Anthony Hopkins in Meet Joe Black:

"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. I say fall head over heels, find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. How do you find him? Well, you forget your head and you listen to your heart and I'm not hearing any heart. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. But You have to try, because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived... Stay open, who knows? Lightning could strike."

You forget your head and follow your heart. Easier said then done uh? I think most of us are afraid to just follow our heart, it feels like we have no control left and that is absolutely terrifying. I think we should all learn to love from dogs. Dogs will love you unconditionally, they don't need to be proven anything, all they want is a little of your attention and care and they will give you their soul. But we are all to scared to do that. Afraid we'll be giving more than what we get back, for some reason that feels totally unfair. We're afraid we'll be putting ourselves too much at risk, letting ourselves be too vulnerable... so we hold back, pretend we don't care as much as we do or who knows what other excuse. Maybe we should be more willing to take risks... but Shakespeare was right... Love is a familiar. Love is a devil. There is no evil angel but Love.
